I came back to my at-home office today and noticed that some pro-Call of Duty IV propaganda had been written on the office whiteboard! I mostly work from home, and my kids often invade my office space and wreak havoc, sometimes leaving me helpful messages like “Get me Call of Duty Black Ops 4” on the whiteboard. We have an Xbox and the kids do play some video games on it (I do, too, when I have some free time – Destiny, anyone?). Of course, they often ask for “gun games” because hey, who doesn’t like shooting people digitally? Problem is that most of these gun games are rated for kids much further along than mine. So it’s a constant battle with the kids – they push, we push back. They ask, we don’t give. That’s good – we’re teaching them delayed gratification which it turns out is a key to a successful, happy life! So Just Say No to your kids – they’ll thank you for it later!
