For Christmas this year, I’m south of the border. Way, way south. Not sure exactly how far south of the border I am at the moment, but I’d say around 7,500 give or take. Yes, we’re spending the holidays in lovely Lima, Peru. I’ve spent an awful lot of time in Lima. I’ve been coming down here for 14 years or so, but it’s been a while since we’ve been here for Christmas – 7 years, maybe? 8? I don’t know. It’s always a good time – they take Christmas down here seriously! Of course, it’s summer here. Shorts and flip flops weather. Not that Lima is big on shorts and flip flops – not fashionable enough. You can get away with that at the beach, but in town, it’s kind of frowned on. But it’s great to be hanging out with my wife’s family – they’re a fantastic bunch of people. And I really want my kids to experience different ways of life. I mean, California is all well and good, but there’s more to the world than fairly pristine beaches, soaring redwood trees, and liberal angst – am I right?
