Another Memorial Day has come again, when we as a nation give thanks to our fallen service men and women. Most of those who served and died in that service did so with the best of intentions. They wanted to serve their country. So let me ask you – how are you serving your country? Your community? Your city, state, school, association, whatever? I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: good things don’t just happen. They happen because good people make them happen. I challenge all of those who remember and give thanks to fallen service members that they they should follow that example. Not by serving in the military necessarily, but how about serving on a school parent club? Your local Rotary or Lions club? How about on a citizen commission? At the public library? There are so many ways and opportunities to serve, to give back, even just a little bit! Please think about that, and about what YOU can do to help make your community, our country, and our world that much of a better place. Through your personal service.
