Happy Holidays everyone! It’s December 23rd, the first day of Hanukkah and just two days from Christmas and three from the start of Kwanza. To say nothing of Festivus. At this time of year it’s time for watching holiday films with the family – so I tortured my kids by making them watch It’s a Wonderful Life starring Jimmy Stewart, from 1941. I got pretty choked up at the end, and it made me recall a poem about what happiness depends on. I’m no philosopher, no guru – I’m just a middle aged white male living in California, and not especially well educated. But I’ve been long enough on the planet to have figured out that life is all about spreading love. And love is the appreciation and respect for life. That’s it. Everything we do as humans should be in service to the objective of spreading love. So this holiday season, get in the spirit and spread some love. Hug your kids. Tell them you love them. Even if you think they already know, or if you think they’d rather not hear it. Hug your loved ones close, and let them feel it. Happy Holidays everyone!
