And it’s a wrap! I am now officially a past president of the Santa Cruz County Association of REALTORS. Yesterday, we installed the new president of the Association and the Board of Directors – I will continue as a Director for 2020 at least, but beyond that, the future is unclear. So now that the dust has settled and the gavel has been passed on – what do I think? What’s it mean to me? Any lessons I can share with you? I’m still processing it all, to tell you the truth. But the one thing I feel really more than anything else is gratitude. Let’s be honest – this is a job that anyone can have, if they want to step up and do the time on committees and whatnot. The thing is, it’s not a job that a lot of people want, but nevertheless I am very grateful to have had the experience. I learned a lot, I got to meet many people, expand my network, and add to my collective experience that makes me a great REALTOR…but not only a great REALTOR, really – it’s made me a better human being. It’s an experience I won’t soon forget and I have memories I’ll cherish forever. And that’s what it all boils down to. Did I make a difference? If so, not much of a difference. But I think a difference was made in me, and that’s something to celebrate, if nothing else.
